My brother and I began to express intrest towards LA since we began seeing the Hollywood Sign in movies and TV shows! So my parents decided to take us to LA (during third grade), we flew into the LAX airport, and head to DisneyLand (the original) we stayed at DisneyLand for a couple of days, and then headed to the Marina Del Ray area and stayed at the Ritz- Carlton Marina Del Ray! And to this day, it is one of the best vactions I have ever been on. (Parents: this is a kid's point of view) If you are unaware of this the Ritz- Carlton we stayed at filmed part of the Parent Trap movie! (The bar and the pool of this hotel are both shown in the movie, Parent Trap) This hotel is very Kid- Friendly! Also, if you choose this for the next family vacation you must take the kids to see the "Hollywood" sign. And visit the Hollywood Walk Of Fame! This is truly one of the most memorable vacations I ever taken!
